Abstract: Some of the luminescent substances were focused on rare earth, especially the ion-doped lanthanide as well as transition-metal ion-doped hosting system. Through different kinds, like indistinct, metallic and even narrow films, several kinds with rare-earth-doped including rare-earth-free luminescent substances were created. Under many situations, certain characteristics with luminescence depend on its form with dopant employed with their activating agent. All elements of its rare earth provide some special yet critical influence over the human lifestyle. This unfulfilled 4f electron configuration of its rare-earth components allows itself to be included by generating numerous modern substances with different uses, like phosphors, magnetic substances, energy-storage components, including catalytic, according to different characteristics through luminosity, electric and magnetic fields, and telecommunications. Phosphors are mostly synthesized by chemical methods; these luminescent substances were examined for attaining creative yet alert substances including stable reaction, dry chemical, deposition and co-precipitation, oxidation and basic chemical path in several researches. A good proportion with luminescent structures depends on rare-earth particles including rare-earth-based substrate layers (that were being developed over the past couple of centuries). Most of such products have worked their path into applications. Upon utilization, rare-earth fluorescence can, across multiple situations, greatly enhance the efficiency of the products that they were used with. Luminescent substances were widely utilized in solid-state illumination and screen technologies. Solid-state illumination development will improve effectiveness but rather reduces the output of glow diodes. Luminescent compounds would also be employed by detectors for maximum temperatures, but strain measurement, which is because of their ultra-sensitivity, is essential to determine several techniques. Luminescent substances had been extensively studied across biological applications, including glowing biological substances as well as even semiconductor nanomaterials, resulting in low hazard, strong physical and mechanical flexibility, narrow illumination patterns, high luminosity spectral levels and longish luminescence decaying rates. Rare-earth-based nanoparticles show significant benefits among most usable faintly glowing nanostructures. In this chapter, we will discuss synthesis and luminescent applications of rare-earth-doped zinc nanomaterials as “luminescent materials” involving such a broad variety of disciplines connected with rare-earth metals, nanoparticles, nanostructure, compositions with crystal membranes, nanosensors for recording temperature, chemical sensors, biosensors, anti-counterfeit applications, security devices and so on.
