Abstract

The paper study is made about the history of retail sector in India. and the changed scenario is also evaluated, on how where it evolved from the stacked kirnna stor es to world class malls. The various facets of the structure and fragmentation of th e retail sector are examined. FDI in retail is a burning sie and its different aspects are explored in detail to establish it s veracity keeping in mind the inter ests of the commonman at large asregards employment, transfer of technology, level of competihon, choice to customers etc.
