dc.description.abstractRT/ Act has been implemellted in almost all the Universities and colleges in India. It plays an important role to the each and every student in their academic activities to fulfill needs and solving problems. In order to find out the opinion and level of awareness among the studellts of higher education this study has been undertaken. Mainly primary data has been used. It is conducted in Coimbatore district of Tami/Nadu. The result reveals that higher education students are got sufficient awareness about RT/ Act and especially female students are having more awareness than male students. But the usage of RT/ act by the students is very low. Majority of the students opine that RT/ act is very useful and it should be used to "Reduce the corruption" and "promotion of transparency". It is concluded that there is a significant association between Arts, science and Engineering students and their level of opinion about the RTI Act-
