dc.description.abstractThe concept of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and its importance in the workplace in the Indian context have been researched only in recent years. EI is defined as "The capacity for recognizing our own feelings and those of others, for motivating ourselves and for managing emotions well in us and in our relationships" work life balance is the maintenance of a balance between responsibilities at work and at home. EI plays a significant role in the success of the work life balance. This paper examines the impact of EI on work life balance of employees on a sample of 150 IT professionals is Techno Park, Trivandrum. EI was assessed using a scale developed by Bhattacharya (2003). The study used a structured questionnaire for assessing perceptions to work life balance. The influence of certain demographic factors on EI and work life balance has also been studied. The study reveals that EI has an influence on work life balance. EI plays a very important role in determining success whether it is academic or work or management or even life that includes happiness and satisfaction.-
