Organizations are now realizing the potential impact of a strong Performance Management System (PMS). The right kind of practice will nourish and unleash human potential, while an inadequate one will have a detrimental effect on the productivity of employees. Good performance management is a process that provides feedback, accountability, and documentation for performance outcomes. Organizations use workshops to adopt the best practices, and to teach the managers to follow the same. The paper highlights the increased awareness on the part of managers towards the objectives of a good PMS and brings out some methods to motivate employees without adding additional cost to the organization.-
