dc.description.abstract | N-phenylglycine (l) undergoes facile cyclocondensation with benzaldehydes to gives the corresponding 4- benzylidene-2-phenyloxazol-5-one (2) in good yields. The 4-benzylidene-2-phenyloxazol-5-one (2) condensed with 2-amino substitued benzothiazole (3a-f) afforded 4- benzyl idene-1-(substitued-2-benzothiazolyl)-2-phenyl- 1H-imidazol-5( 4H)-one (4a-f). The structures of these compounds were recognized on the basis of analytical and spectral data. All the newly synthesized compounds were evaluated for their antibacterial and anti fungal activities. | - |
