Abstract

The dictionary definition of the term chaos is that of a state of utter confusion or disorder, a total lack of organisation. In Greek literature, where we look for the origins of the word "khaos", however, it implies the infinity of the space or formless matter, which precedes the existence of the ordered universe as we know it, the kosmos.
