Abstract: Microfinance deals with providing financial services to low-income clients. SHGs are a consortium consisting of at least twenty people from a similar background, who come together in order to cater to their common needs. They pool their savings to provide to their members, loans that bear interest. In the year 1992. NA BARD issued policy guide lines for the purpose of bank linkages with SHGs.
