Abstract: This experimental study was focused on linger millet husk as an alternative adsorbent for the removal of Ni(II) from wastewater. Batch experiments were conducted at room temperature 28°C to determine the various parameters such as contact time, adsorbent dosage, pH and initial concentration. The maximum removal efficiency of Ni(II) was 99.98% for 0.9g/50mL of ragi husk at pH 8.0. The experimental data was tested using Langmuir and Freundlich equations. The data titted well to both Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms. The present study showed that ragi husk was capable of removing Ni(II) ions from aqueous solutions.
