Abstract: There is considerable debate among academics and business practitioners about key factors of employee existence and development of employees. An important factor is certainly employee job satisfaction, as it defines the influences of people's attitude towards their jobs. Since working in the field of high technology is challenging, and the development cycle is changing rapidly, the satisfaction of employees at the workplace is very important for company success. On the other hand the job satisfaction is an important factor that shapes the future career of the individuals. Present paper studies the characteristics of employee satisfaction in the information technology jobs between the four countries covered by the survey. Methodology/approach : The exploratory study is based on a four-country online survey, including_ 1207 employees who fulfilled the two criteria; the first criterion was having a job at least 10 working hours per week, and the second criterion having colleagues at work.
