dc.description.abstractThis paper examines the non-mandotary disclosure practices in large- and midcap companies for the year 1999-2000 to 2004-2005. An index of discloser of 72 reporting items been constructed to make a comparative analysis in the in the voluntary discloser practices in large-(nifty) and mid-cap companies, In this regard, the compliance towards the zoluntary discloser by the sample companies has been analyzed. The results of the study show that there are large differences in the voluntary disclosure practices being followed by large- and mid-cap companies in India.-
