However, HR professionals encounter numerous challenges in fulfilling these responsibilities. These abstract highlights some of the key challenges faced by HR in supporting career development and retaining high-potential employees and provides insights into potential strategies to overcome these obstacles. Firstly, HR faces the challenge of identifying high-potential employees accurately. The process of identifying individuals with the potential to excel in their careers requires a comprehensive understanding of organizational goals, performance evaluation methods, and succession planning. HR professionals must devise effective talent identification mechanisms that take into account various factors such as skills, competencies, and leadership potential. Secondly, HR departments struggle with creating personalized career development plans. Each employee has unique aspirations and career goals, making it challenging to provide tailored growth opportunities. HR needs to develop flexible and individualized development plans that align with employees' interests, skills, and organizational objectives. Additionally, providing continuous learning opportunities, mentoring programs, and regular feedback sessions are crucial to facilitate career growth.
