Abstract: The two types of education that have grown in popularity most recently are online learning and traditional classroom instruction. While traditional education has always taken place in a classroom setting, online learning has become a popular alternative, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The debate between online learning and classroom learning has been ongoing for several years. Proponents of classroom learning argue that it provides a more interactive and engaging learning experience, as students can participate in group discussions, ask questions, and receive immediate feedback from their instructors. Online learning, in contrast, is supported by some who claim that it provides better accessibility and flexibility since it allows students to learn at their own speed and from any location at any time. The motive of the research paper is to differentiate learning from digital sources and classroom learning in terms of their effectiveness, advantages, and disadvantages. For this research I have conducted an assessment for students of Information System and Operation Management(ISOM) of 2nd and 4th semester from Alliance University under the guidance of the Area Chair of ISOM (Dr. Sukanya Kundu) to evaluate their performance based on the topics which were taught in the classroom by the professors and on the other hand certain topics which were not taught during the classroom sessions and hence, the students had learnt those from web-sources such as Google, YouTube, ChatGPT etc. This test was conducted in the academic year of 2023. Several studies have compared the effectiveness of online learning and classroom learning in terms of student outcomes, with mixed results.
