In recent years, the idea of "smart cities" has drawn a lot of interest to improve the sustainability and effectiveness of urban settings. Managing and optimizing energy use is a key component in creating smart cities. The paper "Energy Minimization in Smart Cities Using Software-Defined Internet of Vehicles" investigates a unique strategy for enhancing energy efficiency in smart cities by fusing Software-Defined Networking (SDN) with the Internet of Vehicles (IoV). The network of networked cars, infrastructure, and data systems known as the Internet of cars (IoV) enables intelligent communication and mobility. Utilizing the IoV makes it feasible to gather real-time data on energy use, traffic patterns, and vehicle positions, all of which may be used to optimise energy use inside cities. The suggested remedy integrates Software-Defined Networking (SDN) into the Internet of Things environment. SDN makes it possible for centralized administration and control of the network infrastructure, allowing for resource allocation that is effective and dynamic reconfiguration. Applying SDN concepts to the IoV makes it possible to optimise the energy use of infrastructure and cars, resulting in lower carbon emissions and more energy effectiveness.en_US
