Abstract: This internship project deploys a simulated sales cycle structured with a case study also providing a learning experience with a prime focus on tools, technical acumen, critical thinking, andcustomer handling. The internship project is used to inculcate an industry-ready approach by simulating a use-case scenario with real-world variables. With this project, trainees can apply their knowledge of storage concepts and test it out in dynamic scenarios. It also gives us an opportunity to size solutions based on requirements gathered from the customer, after a customer call, instead of being given explicit requirements beforehand. Finally, implementing and deploying the solution, as per customer requirements, while demonstrating the advantages of future loyalty programs. The goal of the project is to offer a storage solution that can handle a given organization’s current and future unstructured data requirements, providing easy scalability and reliability, and defending the solution from a technical standpoint. The methodology adopted to take this project forward is the EASS framework, which is further divided into different phases. The technical framework of EASS i.e. Explore, Assess, Solution and Secure begins with understanding and documenting customer’s environment and capturing business and technical requirements to review the solution with the customer and addressing any technical and competitive concerns. The goal is to locate, inspect, draft, and support an end-to-end storage solution architecture for a scenario in which a customer has a pair of a competitor’s clusters, and they would like to switch from it. Currently, they have file servers, database servers, applications servers, web servers, etc. The customer is looking forward to building a data center using different storage requirements and is looking for a validated design for the applications they run in their environment. The end goal is to provide the customer with a cloud-like operating model, an efficient and simplified storage solution. A simulated product scenario structured with a case study that provides a learning experience focusing on tools, technical acumen, critical thinking, and customer presentations. Following three internship pillars i.e. technical acumen, business acumen, and interpersonal skills landed at the end of the project. Deep diving into the proposed solution's technical capabilities, emphasizing how the product was sized, and focusing on pricing before discounting based on the requirements received design, we delivered a proposal addressing the customer pain points by leveraging available tools todetermine the proposed solution.
