Abstract: | Today, it is very important for all the citizens take any country to be financially literate, India being a developing country must ensure that every citizen of her possess a decent amount of financial knowledge only then the financial and economic resources can be used at its best and as a result this can help the growth in economy positively. This research is to understand the level of financial literacy among working class citizens in India and the student community. Indians are well known for saving, but with the help of financial literacy these savings can be parked in worthwhile investment vehicles. Financial literacy is also important as it can save people from financial frauds. Some of the aspects which involve in financial literacy is Budget planning, higher education planning for children, Retirement planning etc. Today we can observe that there are quite a good number of social media influencers who explains concepts about finance like stock market, Bitcoin , passive income ideas, in YouTube channels , such videos get a large number of views and these social media influencers get a lot of subscribers for their YouTube channel, from this we can understand that today, people are aware about the importance of financial literacy and they are trying to learn it from informal sources like YouTube, telegram etc. From this research we will be able to understand how well the common general are aware about the fundamental finance concepts and also as today finance includes Fintech we will be also able to understand how much people are aware about Fintech. In this Research we have conducted a survey of 15 questions from which 124 responses have been received and recorded based on which the conclusions and suggestions have been made. |
