Abstract: Both domestic and foreign investors have paid close attention to recent M&A activity in India. There has been a spike in M&A activity over the last few years in a variety of industries, including technology, e-commerce, banking, and pharmaceuticals. Many factors, including market consolidation, rising rivalry, the need for cost- and synergy-savings, and others, have motivated these agreements. There is a lot of discussion regarding the effects of M&A activity on the Indian economy, notably for the companies involved, their shareholders, and their employees. While some say that M&A activity can result in job losses, diminished innovation, and increased market power, others contend that it can promote efficiency, scale economies, and competitiveness
