dc.description.abstractIn this study, we looked into how work-life balance initiatives (WLBIs), technology use and employee engagement all relate with each other. A mixed-methods method was used to carry out a quantitative survey (n=51) and semi-structured interviews (n=10). There seems to be a mismatch between the presence of WLBIs and how employees view their usefulness, even though many types of WLBIs are available. A clear link was shown, with positive and significant correlation between how effective the WLB is seen and employee engagement. Among WLBIs, flexible work arrangements got highest rates followed by paid time off; onsite childcare & parental leave received lower scores comparatively. Technology helped communication and work but more than half of employees felt it made them unable to disconnect after their job time. Qualitative findings put stress on the role of managerial behavior as well as a supportive work culture for employee engagement. These results show that it is not enough to only provide WLBIs; there must be an all-around method which can fill this gap between policy and its implementation. This includes clear communication, making sure employees are at ease in using WLBIs properly and closing the loop by creating a favorable work environment and culture. The design of WLBIs should be versatile and considerate of employee requirements. Methods to support healthy boundaries and endorse technology use only during specified work hours are extremely important. In general, this research highlights the intricate relationship between WLBIs, technology usage, and employee engagement. Companies that emphasize a big picture view can encourage the wellbeing of their employees and establish a work setting where engagement is promoted at all levels.en_US
