Abstract: Merger and acquisition have become commonplace in the contemporary era of globalization. Today, firms are increasingly turning to mergers and acquisitions as one of the swiftest methods to expand their horizons, transcend boundaries, and seize new opportunities. The surge in mergers and acquisitions can be attributed significantly to the various lucrative transformations brought about by liberalization and globalization initiated by the Government of India since 1991. Over the past two decades, mergers and acquisitions in the Indian industrial landscape have witnessed diverse forms, both in terms of the number of deals and their associated value, largely due to the practical implications of globalization and increased revenues. Mergers and acquisitions are rightly regarded as the optimal transformation, representing one of the most challenging endeavours in the modern global and competitive arena, and often the sole means for long-term sustainability for a business entity
