Abstract: The porous polymeric composite materials provide numerous advantages due to their surface texture like high/selective permeability, high tensile strength/flexibility, and high surface area that makes them exceptional materials for various applications such as water treatments, filtration membranes, catalysis, sensors, and biomedical applications. Carbonbased-NMs (CB-NMs) such as graphene oxide (GO), graphene, carbon nanotubes (CNTs), carbon nanofibers (CNFs), and its hybrid materials are mostly applied in numerous applications. Moreover, these porous CB-NMs have been synthesized with tunable porosity by changing their synthesis temperature. Another class of porous materials, metal;organic frameworks (MOFs), porous organic solids, and covalent organic frameworks (COFs), 146 are newly emerging materials with high porosity and are widely used for numerous applications. We mainly focus on different porous polymeric composite materials and their applications. Finally, discussed the role of porosity in environmental remediation, biomedical, energy, and solar cell applications. © 2025 Apple Academic Press, Inc.
