Abstract: The effectiveness of whistleblowing in organizational context is a controversial issue. Whether it is a felony or favour to the organization, that debate is a never ending discussion. The ethical issues related to whistle blowing create psychological dilemma in the mind of whistle-blower. The wrongdoings by the people at different levels of the organization eats up the organization's overall performance and efficiency. Thus disclosure of the same helps the organisation to get a chance to rectify the offences. The handling of such disclosure is a tactful job as the reputation of the organization may get adversely affected if not handled diligently. The .paper tries to understand the concept of whistleblowing and thus intends to find out whether this act works as a felony or favour to the organisation.
