Abstract: In this chapter, we discuss the physical and chemical performance of natural fiber-reinforced polyester composites. Natural fiber-based composites displayed superior properties due to its exclusive properties such as low density, biodegradability, renewability and recyclability. In addition to this, most of the natural fibers are abundantly available and inexpensive. Hence, extensive research is carried out toward the fabrication of natural fiber-reinforced polymer composites. Natural fibers have some drawbacks such as hydrophilic nature, low mechanical property, high moisture absorption and lower strength. These drawbacks are generally overcome by surface treatment or by the combination of either natural fibers or synthetic fibers. In the latter type of composite, the advantages of one type of fiber can compensate for the disadvantages of the other. The combination of two natural fibers with polymer matrix enhanced the mechanical, thermal, water absorption, chemical resistance, damping, etc. compared with individual fiber-reinforced composite. © 2024 The right of Senthilkumar Krishnasamy, Chandrasekar Muthukumar, Senthil Muthu Kumar Thiagamani and Suchart Siengchin to be identified as the authors of the editorial material, and of the authors for their individual chapters, has been asserted in accordance with sections 77 and 78 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. © 2024 The right of Senthilkumar Krishnasamy, Chandrasekar Muthukumar, Senthil Muthu Kumar Thiagamani and Suchart Siengchin.
