With deregulation in the electrical sector, energy is being treated as a commodity. Further, with integration of renewables, smart grid technology and electric vehicle technology are a force to reckon with as a futuristic goal. Digital technology could revolutionize our current energy supply, trade, and consumption. Artificial intelligence (AI) powers the new digitalization model. A sophisticated software program that regulates integrated energy supply, demand, and renewable resources will be employed to accomplish this task. The arrival of AI will be crucial for the achievement of this goal. This research is devoted to study the AI techniques used in the energy sector. Legislation and complex business strategies must be implemented to meet the competition, as well as protect customers' privacy. Efficient implementation of new services and products in the digital energy market is possible with technological progress in information technology, AI, and data analysis. This study will provide an overview of AI projects, ambitions, new cutting-edge applications, challenges, and global roles in energy. © 2023 River Publishers. All rights reserved.en_US
