Businesses, social organizations, including academic and educational institutions as well, even the types of government in place today will all undergo fundamental shifts due to the advent of digital technology. In this sense, we will approach the company's digitalization from the viewpoint of the three pillars, namely social, economic, and environmental, to conclude the degree to which this new and last revolution corresponds to the principles of sustainable development. Through the use of econometric analysis, this research aims to investigate the economic connections between the digitalization of business and sustainable development. The findings of the econometric study will be used to assess the degree to which the occurrence of this phenomenon will impact the characteristics that define sustainable development. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.en_US
