Abstract: The following is the research of the study will explain the genesis and development of protection to foreign investors abroad; this tale will end up with the intervention treaty-based investment arbitration in the international investment law regime. And also make an attempt to explain how protection to foreign investors has been changes with time starting from the past diplomatic protection and will conclude with the present-day treaty based investment arbitration for the settlement of investment related disputes. After seeing the chronicles of investment protection, the researcher will make an attempt to discuss the foundations of investment treaty arbitration in the first part. This will establish the functions and the reasons for the creation of investment treaty arbitration. So, that will have a better understating about the nature of investor-State Dispute Settlement provisions, its scope and the features they contain that have been explained. Basing on the discussion and analysis that takes place in the previous chapters, will provide you conclusion and findings of the study and suggestions if any.
