Postponement Strategy - Indian Perspective

Abstract

This Operations Management strategy has remained dormant for a very long time. It is only in the recent past that it got the fancy of researchers and hence at came to the fore. The main reason for non application of this strategy has been the mass market orientation of the industry. It is only in late nineties, the industry started feeling the impact of global competition and realized that strategies which were applicable earlier, would not take them a long way.
