Abstract: In present paper, various productivity definitions have been compiled towards understanding its meaning and concepts involved. Factors responsible for productivity enhancement in manufacturing sector and services sectors of India have been identified and segregated after review of appropriate literature. Suitable discussions have been provided; and the term- 'Sustainable Productivity' has been also attempted to be defined. During the process of carrying out this research; it has been f elt that considering 'sustainability ' in focus, enhancement of productivity may be re-conceptualized and re-searched towards providing sustainable advantages to organizations, supply chains, country and whole society. As an output of discussions with various academicians and industry professionals; a model/framework showing interactions among categories of factors enhancing productivity, has also been provided to help researchers and managers towards attaining clear understanding of 'sustainable productivity'.
