Abstract: This paper aims at bringing out the factors responsible for motivating a household to pay for improved piped water supply. The study tries to integrate the factors responsible for willingness to pay (WTP) with the underlying psychological conr.ept of mental accounting for a better understanding. The study finds a number of factors responsible for willingness to pay for uninterrupted 24 hours piped water supply.
