dc.description.abstractThe present investigation was carried out in distress-prone districts namely,Akola and Bu/dona of Western Vidarbha region of Maharashtra State with exploratory design of social research. The study revealed that, nuclear type of families, low annual income coupled with absence of any supplementary occupations, indebtedness and more income liability gap were proved as important causes of suicide of farmers in Western Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.-
