dc.description.abstract | This paper discusses about the production and productivity trends, challenges and future strategy to the Indian agricultural sector. The paper suggests that there is a need to raise farm productivity especially in the vast rain fed areas and besides crop farming stress would need to be laid on promoting livestock farming, horticulture, fodder plantation and grassland development, improved seeds and fertilisers and proper irrigation facilities can play a crucial role in raising the productivity. | - |
