dc.description.abstractThe present study explored the psycho-social factors effecting female entrepreneurs, involved in various activities, belonging to different rural and urban areas of Dist. Attack, Punjab in the year 2010-2011. The research was based on both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The data was collected from two hundred female entrepreneurs by using non-probability purposive sampling technique. The data was collected with three standardized scales in order to measure need Achievement, perceived social support, and work motivation. The scales used were, Story Completion Test of Achievement Motivation (Ansari, 1980 et al.), Work Preference Inventory (WPI by Amabile, 1995) and Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support Questionnaire (Zimet, Dahlem, Zimet & Farley, 1988). The findings of the study revealed that there was significant positive co-relation between work motivation and need achievement. There is non-significant correlation between need achievement and social support. The qualitative analysis revealed that the major constraints that female entrepreneurs had to face were lack of access to resources, financial support, lack of community support, mobility problems that influence the participation of females in entrepreneurial activities.-
