Abstract: Work place stress is typical though excessive stress can hinder productivity and performance of one's profession and also it has negative impact on physical, emotional health, relationships and home life. The present research study has a certain aim to identify the sources of work stress for employees in the banking sector. This study is a casual research in nature. Using (,(teen components, the present study extracted f,ve fundamental factors by using factor analysis method. This report found that the most imperative factors are to be considered as follows: Intrinsic Factors, Non-work factor, Relationship at work, Role in the organization and Career Development in this order. For data collection, a questionnaire survey of I 00 executives of private bank of Dhaka district was carried out This research could help researchers and practitioners in terms of framing the sources of work stress only for banking sector as well as for other industries in Bangladesh.
