Abstract: IT was in 1960 that the region of Marathwada was merged with Maharashtra. This was the time when the industrial development of Marathwada began. Over time, the Maharashtra Industrial D evelopment Corporation (MIDC) acquired land and set up industrial estates, which provided a boost to the region's tremendous growth.
