Abstract: This research paper investigates the commitment of government retired engineers. In addition, this study aimed al examining the role of job satisfaction (mediator) between job-related factors (e.g. Passion for work and intimacy with co-workers) and the affective commitment (dependent variable). A survey based experimental research design was used. The study was carried on public sector retired engineers. A well-administered survey questionnaire was used to collect the data. Frequency, correlation, multiple regression and confumalory factor analysis were used lo analyze the data. The fmdings of the study indicated that intimacy with co-workers and passion for work both factors have a significant direct positive effect on the affective commitment and the mediation model is significant. Job satisfaction is a significant mediator to build affective commitment among retired engineers.
