Title: | Inspiration Allegory - The Limit-Less Performance |
Authors: | Swati Bhatt Vikas Kumar |
Issue Date: | 2012 |
Publisher: | SRM-IMT Journal of Business and Management Research |
Abstract: | The relationship between motivation and performance is reinforcing one. It leads to a number of questions like potential, perception, ability and stress. It is true that motivated individuals do more work, but this needs to be carefully managed if they are going to spend most of their energy on aspects of work they find stimulating, which should be of benefit to the company. Motivated employees of course are more productive, provided they have the requisite skills to do the job and the perception to realize whether they have those skills or not. It is just as important to take steps to improve ability by means of good selection and training as it is to pay attention to motivation. This article focuses on the capability setting of the mind, realistic expectation and aiming. |
