Multi-polarity was seen in 1914 with Germany, Italy and Austria on one side and Great Britain, Russia and France on the other. The former was called Triple Alliance whereas the latter was called Triple Entente as they counterbalanced each other. This brought World War leading to economic, social and financial disaster.-
