Abstract: In the current market scenario sea changes and many developments are taking place in retailing industry. So the author has thought of describing a comparative analysis of customer satisfaction towards Retail Store and Hyper markets. It is difficult to analyze the changing attitudes, likes, dislikes and satisfactory levels of customers in the present competitive market Scenario. Author has made an attempt here to assess the customer satisfaction towards Retail Stores and Hypermarkets. This survey was carried out by the author keeping in mind the need and importance of the proposed study and this has enabled the author to easily determine the scope and objectives of this study, Descriptive approach was considered ideal for the study as it includes the ever changing opinion of the customers. The findings were taken up for drawing logical conclusions. Based on the findings suitable suggestions and recommendations were brought out for the benefits of both the Retail Stores and Hypermarkets. The respondents were presented with a well structured questionnaire as a part of the survey method, which was easy to fill up. And the opinions of the respondents were rated on a percentage basis to arrive at the level of satisfaction.The main sources of data were the questionnaire and the other relevant magazines, books and websites. Thus the survey is centred on the features of retail Store and hyper market mostly preferred by the customers. The survey indicates that most of the customers are satisfied with retail stores and it is because of its quality and availability of wide range of products, free home delivery, replacement on diversified products, good packing facilities, price reduction on total purchase, friendly and helpful sales personnel, good services, etc it is better when compared to hyper market.
