The focus of this study is on map database risk management. Map databases are the foundation of automotive navigation systems. It is a part of the satellite navigation system designed for use in automobiles. While map database management in many ways is similar to general business database management, it also has its unique set of challenges. Securing the map databases while updating and changing is one of the most critical challenges in digital mapmaking. This research demonstrates how a world leader in the industry had adapted a risk management approach to analyze potential risks and took the necessary security measures to reduce those risks.-
