dc.description.abstractThe Study is about the activities that take place in the distribution centre of a group of retail chain located at twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. There are two important activities that take place in the distribution centre - the receipt of goods coming from the vendor and sending the goods to the store and the splitting of the bulk into desired quantities. (Vendor vehicle receiving efficiency, Picking eff,ciency, Bulking packing efficiency and repacking efficiency.) The objective of this study is to measure the efficiency of these two activities using standards givens by retail chain.-
