Abstract: This research is based on the idea that an employee' sethical work climate is ultimately an important determi-nant of both his or her overall well being and the well-being of the finn . The ethical work climate is proposed as a key element in a boundary spanning employees psychological work climate, and like other climate ele-ments, it plays a fundamental role in explaining impor-tant work constructs including job satisfaction, organiza-tional commitment, and turnover (James and James 1989). This, just as employees make appraisals concern-ing the cohesiveness of an organization, they are con-fronted with appraisals concerning the consistency of workplace behaviour with relevant moral standards.
