Abstract

Agriculture is one of the most important industries and has been accepted as the backbone of the Indian economy. Nearly seventy percent of our country's population lives in villages and agriculture is the primary occupation of about sixty to seventy percent of the total population oflndia. It creates employment for about 75 per cent of the working population and accounts for about fifty percent of the national income.
