Abstract: The software industry is the main component of the information technology in India . Presently there are more than 500 software firms in the country which shows the monumental advancement that the Indian software Industry has experienced . In India, the software boom started somewhere in the late 1990's. The study aim at ana lysing the financial performance of software companies like TCS, lnfosys,Wipro and Satyam. The study being an external analyst, had to depend mainl y upon secondary data for the purpose of studying the financial performance of top 10 software Industries in India . The data and information required for the study have been collected mostly from the annual reports of the units for the period from 2000-2001 to 2008-2009. In order to evaluate the financial performance, tools li ke Anova, mean, standard deviation and correlation have been used .
