dc.description.abstractIn India, Collis /tell/th lwwrd controversy came into limelight due to the /we mu/ cry mllde by CSE chief Ms. Sunita Narain, who poi11ted out higlt levels of pesticide contents tested in all the major brwuls of Colas gillnts- Coco-Cola and Pepsi in 2006. Keralll Government was tltejirst to ban production and sales of Colas in 2006. A few other states, wltile some awllited clearance from tlte Central Government, otlters banned Colas 11ear e,lucational institutes and government estllblisltments. Hoverer, Cola gillnts were supported by tlte industrial bodies namely CII and FI CCI who opposed the ban.-
