Abstract: Foreign trade plays an important role in the economic development and growth of a country. The economic reforms launched during 1990s and establishment of WTO in 1995 has provided a lot of opportunities and challenges for both developed as well as developing countries. The present paper makes a review of past studies related to the topic 'India foreign trade in the era of economic reforms and WTO ·•. It is an attempt to review the research work on the various aspects of economic reforms and World Trade Organization, and their effect on India ·s foreign trade performance. It is concluded that there are many studies, which discover strong positive relationship between exports and economic growth. On the other hand some studies do not indicate the existence of such a relation.
