Abstract: Medical information science [MISc] is an interdisciplinary domain which is close to medical and health informatics; two other indirectly related domain or sub domain [in some cases] are medical 2.0 and medical information systems. The main difference with MIS is, here apart from practicing academic, research matter also gets priorities whereas others only deal with professional practices in the respective field . Medical information science is a full-fledged academic PG/UG degree programmer though not much popular. This paper highlights how and why MISc has an immense potential to become a sophisticated domain over the conventional medical informatics programmed. Paper also highlights how a model syllabus of medical information science as a specialization of MSc-information science in Indian scenario.
