Abstract: | Mungbean genotypes procured from Asian vegetable re se arch development centre (A VRDC) were involvedin field trails to elucidate the effect of dry matter partitioning in different plant parts at various crop growthstages on seed yield. At 60 days after s owing leaf area reached maxi ma which coincides with maximumdry matter accum ul ation in leaves, roo ts and nodules. During pod filling maximum dry matter accumulatedin stem. Leaf area was the most important source that determined TDM.Higher seed yield was attributed tohigher leaf area, tota l dry matte r and hence forth harve st index. |
