Abstract: An analysis of the degre of human discomfort experienced in a tropical coastal city like Chennai during the summer months of March to June 2011 has been undertaken. The m1cro-env1ronmental influences on the weather elements are in tum linked to the human discomfort levels and indicate that areas like Madhavaram with green vegetative cover arc cooler.
