Abstract: | Accreditation 1s a process m which certification of competency, authority, orcredibility is attempted. Higher education accreditation is a type of qualityassurance process under which services and operations of educational institutionsor programmes are eva lu ated by an external body to determine if applicablestandards or criteria are met. The major international business school accreditationorganizations today are the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business(AACSB) International, the Associat ion of MBAs (AMBA), and the EuropeanFoundation for Management Development (EFMD). Accreditation has been agrowing phenomenon amongst business schools in the last decade. llundreds ofbusiness schools around the world have invested sizable resources in accreditationprocesses in the pursuit of desired labels. But is all this done only for the labels '?Or, can we identify other additional benefits or positive externalities as processoutcomes? |
