dc.description.abstractThe Ministry of Environment and Forests (Hereinafter referred to as MoEF) had issued a notification in 2011 banning the use of bulls as "performing animals", thereby banning all forms of use of bulls in exhibitions, competitions and festivals such as "J alikattu". Despite this notification, bull fights and bull races continued to take place throughout the country.-
