dc.description.abstractEntrepreneurship development is one of the important sources of economic development. The promotion of micro and small firms leads to country's economic growth. The government of India is trying to promote development of micro and small firms in the country by means of creating opportunities for self- employment, and enhancing entrepreneurial skills through various training programmes, thereby contributing to entrepreneurship development.The present study is a review of previous research studies on entrepreneurship development and its contribution to the country's economic development. The authors discuss the Global Entrepreneurship Model (GEM) conceptual model which focused on economic growth of a country.-
